When I use 'Tab' Pie menu to go to pose mode in blender and then try to exit back to object mode with the 'Tab" pie menu choosing 'Object', and it goes to Edit mode instead.

Do I have to purchase the addon again in order to upgrade to the latest version?
If you have purchased in the past then no. If you have gotten the standard variant for free, which has now been retired then yes. See https://machin3.io/MACHIN3tools/docs/whatsnew/#18
